By collecting resources, players build roads, houses and castles, and strive for greater development. Victory points are awarded for all this, and the one who collects the most of them is the winner.
Your adventurous settlers seek to tame the remote but rich island of Catan. Start by discovering Catan’s many ports and regions: pastures, fields, mountains, hills, forests, and deserts. A random mix creates a different board virtually every game. Trade wisely and develop cunningly to lead your colonists to victory. Use combinations of resources – grain, wool, ore, bricks, and wood – to purchase handy development cards and build roads, settlements, and cities. Acquire resources through trade, cards, or lucky dice (even when you’re not on your turn). But beware! Someone might cut you off or buy a monopoly. And you never know when a cunning robber might steal some of your precious profits!
