Chess clocks

A chess clock shows each player's remaining time and sets the pace of the game. No tournament can do without one, and at a club or at home it helps you practise playing against the clock.

How to choose

• A simple choice: DGT 1001, 1002 and Easy Plus are electronic clocks with a time increment function.
• For fast games: DGT 1500 shows tenths of a second and lets you set a different time for each player.
• A larger display: DGT 2010, 2500 and North American (22 preset modes).
• For tournaments: DGT 3000 is a FIDE-approved clock with 25 time modes that connects to DGT electronic boards.

A time increment after every move gives the player extra seconds, so a game does not end simply because time runs out.
